Unfortunately, second-semester classes have already gotten difficult. Midterms are approaching fast and with everything being virtual, it seems as though it’s extremely easy to fall behind. Here are a few ways I’ve been staying organized this semester.

1. Using Notion.so

Notion is an all-in-one workspace for your notes, tasks, wikis, and databases. The site is extremely versatile and lets you design and personalize your page to your liking. I use Notion to organize to-do lists and mark important dates for clubs, classes, and daily life. Although the site takes some time to get used to, it’s definitely worth checking out. You can even download the Notion app and access it on your mobile devices.

2. Putting my classes on Google Calendar

Another thing I’ve started doing this semester is transferring my schedule from Webstac to Google Calendar. I’ve pulled the zoom links for all my classes from Canvas and added them to the events on Google Calendar, using different colors for each event. This way, I’m able to easily see when my classes are. Additionally, when class is starting, all I need to do is click on the zoom link from Google Calendar. This is an easy, but extremely helpful way to stay organized.

3. Map out a regular workflow for the week and do your best to stick to it

I’ve recently started mapping out what days to do what homework assignments. Scheduling out when to do assignments makes you more aware of your commitments. You’re also less likely to get overwhelmed. Doing this has allowed me to procrastinate a lot less and just feel less stressed in general. Making a schedule keeps you accountable for things (and check-marking things you’ve done is extremely satisfying).

4. Schedule in time for relaxation, self-care, and things that make you happy

Whether this means working out, meditating, or watching Netflix, it’s extremely important to leave some time at the end of the day for yourself. You’ll quickly burn out from fatigue if you forget to take some breaks!

Hopefully, these tips will help you stay organized during this unconventional and overwhelming semester!
