The Enneagram test is a personality test with nine categories. While it may seem that this test is trying to put you in a box and stick a label on it, it’s not. When it gives you your type, it also gives you your second and third most likely categories. Many people are difficult to understand, and of the four times I’ve taken the Enneagram test, it has given me four different categories. So while it may not be the most accurate, I think it’s super fun to read about! I became obsessed with Enneagrams over the past few weeks from finding out my and my friends’ types and my favorite celebrities and fictional characters, so I wanted to share! I’m a type 6! What’s your type?

Type 1: The Reformer

I have also seen this type called the “perfectionist,” but I think “reformer” has a kinder connotation. Type ones are known to be responsible and at times uptight; they seek to improve the world and those around them. Ones are honest and ethical, but can sometimes become anxious about being good enough. If you’re naturally organized, industrious, and have an eye for the finer details, then you may be a type 1!

Famous Type Ones: Julie Andrews, Hillary Clinton, Anne Frank, Harrison Ford, Jodie Foster, Nelson Mandela, Arthur Miller, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Meryl Streep.

Famous Characters: Bruce Wayne, Steve Rogers, Atticus Finch, Hermione Granger, Monica Geller.

Type 2: The Helper

Twos find worth in giving to others. They are selfless and put others’ needs before their own. Love is the most important thing in the world to them, and they are very expressive in their emotions. Because of this they struggle with the return of such strong feelings and devotion from others; though they find meaning in helping others, they may also think they will never be loved how they believe they deserve. If you wear your heart on your sleeve and put the needs and wants of your friends and family before your own, you might be a type 2!

Famous Type Twos: Glenn Close, Bill Cosby, Princess Diana of Wales, and Celine Dion.

Famous Characters: Kara Danvers, Peter Parker, Peeta Mellark, Samwise Gamgee.

Type 3: The Achiever

Type threes find that they will be rewarded by being successful. They seek admiration and validation to feel worthy and because of this, they are often competitive and goal-oriented. Threes can trick themselves into not meeting their needs, and they find intimacy difficult; they can often confuse true feelings with the image or perception of those feelings. If you are optimistic and driven, you may be a type 3!

Famous Type Threes: Muhammad Ali, David Bowie, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Michael Jordan, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elvis Presley, Will Smith, Andy Warhol, and Tiger Woods.

Famous Characters: Tony Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Odysseus, Rachel Green.

Type 4: The Individualist

Fours build their personalities around the idea that they are one-of-a-kind. They pick at the features that set them apart from everyone else, which leads them to feel both unique and removed. They often have complex emotional highs and lows and they long to be understood. Many fours are creative and empathetic and desire to express themselves in unique ways. If you are prone to fantasizing or daydreaming and feel you have a lot to share with others, you could be a type 4!

Famous Type Fours: James Dean, Bob Dylan, Michaelangelo, Stevie Nicks, Gary Oldman, Edgar Allen Poe, Natalie Portman, and Oscar Wilde.

Famous Characters: Anne Shirley, Jay Gatsby, Marianne Dashwood.

Type 5: The Investigator

I have also seen this type be labeled the “observer.” These people are thinkers; they like to watch and analyze others and their situations. They are private people who hold back feelings and typically live a minimalist lifestyle. Fives can be shy, independant, and rarely ask others for help when needed, creating a rift between them and those they care about. The most common belief of fives is that they aren’t strong or brave enough to face the world, which is why they take comfort in the privacy of their own minds. If you’re observant and thoughtful, you could be a type 5!

Famous Type Fives: Kurt Cobain, Charles Darwin, Amelia Earhart, Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, Annie Leibowitz, George Lucas, Isaac Newton, and Nikola Tesla.

Famous Characters: Sherlock Holmes, Severus Snape, Hannibal Lecter.

Type 6: The Loyalist

The basis of a type six is fear and anxiety. They worry about life, people, work, relationships, everything, really. They seek something or someone to believe in, but they don’t trust easily, leading to two distinct manifestations of this personality type. Phobic sixes are obedient and subservient, while counterphobic sixes are rebellious and have a dare-devil approach to life. If you are suspicious of others and yet extremely loyal to those you care about, you are probably a type 6!

Famous Type Sixes: Tom Clancy, Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Fonda, Tom Hanks, Marilyn Monroe, Julia Roberts, and Bruce Springsteen.

Famous Characters: Hamlet, Chandler Bing, Logan (Wolverine), T’Challa (Black Panther).

Type 7: The Enthusiast

Type sevens are adventurous. They are drawn to freedom and look at life as though it has endless possibilities. They always seek out excitement and can rarely be tied down to one commitment; they enjoy making plans and looking forward to the next thrill. Sevens rarely focus on their flaws as to flatter their merits; they also tend to ignore negative thoughts or emotions and will keep themselves distracted by any means necessary. If you have a passion for new experiences and a playful and idealistic view of life, you might be a type 7!

Famous Type Sevens: Antonio Banderas, Jackie Chan, George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr., Elton John, Eddie Murphy, Brad Pitt, Barbra Streisand, and Robin Williams.

Famous Characters: Han Solo, Fred & George Weasley, Peter Pan.

Type 8: The Challenger

An eight’s essential goal is to be in charge because they don’t want to be controlled, but this can lead to a tendency to control others. They sometimes conflict with rules set by a higher authority and can readily show their anger and aggression. Trust does not come easily to an eight, but when it does, they are protective and generous. If you are courageous, practical, and strong-willed, then you could be a type 8!

Famous Type Eights: Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, Sandra Bullock, Johnny Cash, Winston Churchill, Morgan Freeman, Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso, and Frank Sinatra.

Famous Characters: Anakin Skywalker, Alastor Moody, Jo March, Carol Danvers.

Type 9: The Peacemaker

Nines avoid conflict at all costs. They guard themselves against threats and often “go with the flow” as to not upset or cause conflict in a group. Most often, nines have an optimistic outlook on life and they always believe that things will work out. Change can provoke a sense of discomfort in them, but they are easily adaptable and very resilient. If you are accepting, positive, and empathetic, but at times passive-aggressive, you could be a type 9!

Famous Type Nines: Jennifer Aniston, David Becham, Matt Damon, Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ, Audrey Hepburn, Carl Jung, Abraham Lincoln, James McAvoy, Luke Perry, and Uma Thurman.

Famous Characters: Elsa, Harry Potter, Jon Snow, Jane Bennet, Primrose Everdeen, Rey Skywalker.
