On the Weight of Water

Most days, it feels like water is falling from everywhere and everyone

feels like water is stripping the senses, so I can’t hear you talking anymore, or anywhere

water making my eyes blur and sting making it so I can’t see you anymore.

Rushing to my lungs, crushing and filling them with water–

water and gravity and my heartbeat teaming up to form a trio I cannot possibly float above
