3 Must-Have Skincare Products For Dry, Winter Skin

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Virginia Tech chapter.

Our skin is never harder to take care of than it is during the cold, winter months. No one likes the feeling of tight, dry, flaking skin, so having a reliable skincare routine is really important. Here are three products you need to get the hydrated, radiant skin you’ve been longing for.

1. MOISTURIZER

This one is a pretty obvious must for dry skin, but sometimes we forget how important it is. Finding the right moisturizer can be tricky because not all of them are tailored to dry skin. These two moisturizers, however, will definitely be your new winter skin fix.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel ($19.99)

This lighter weight moisturizer is great for people who don’t like that greasy, lotion feel on their skin. It contains hyaluronic acid, too, which helps lock in hydration throughout the day.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ($30.00)

This moisturizer is suitable for even the driest, most sensitive skin. It will cure whatever irritation and flaking that may be happening during the brutally cold winter months.

2. EYE CREAM

Eye cream is especially important for us makeup-loving girls. Having hydrated, smooth under eyes helps foundation, concealer and powder go on smoother, and it also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and texture.

Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm ($68.00)

This heavy-duty eye cream is ultra nourishing. It both hydrates and helps decrease dark circles and puffiness. It’s a little on the pricey side, but it’s full of quality ingredients that ensure a rejuvenated, healthy-looking under eye.

3. EXFOLIANT

People with dry skin sometimes avoid exfoliating their skin because they’re afraid it will make the itching and flaking worse, but if you find the right product, exfoliant can be very beneficial.

Philosophy The Microdelivery Exfoliating Facial Wash ($28.00)

This product is as gentle as it gets. The exfoliant is very mild, making it suitable for any skin type. It’s also convenient because it comes in the form of a facial wash: two-in-one!

Fresh Sugar Face Polish ($62.00)

To really target dry and dull skin, this exfoliant is formulated with brown sugar, which gently polishes the skin to reveal the radiance underneath.
