It is already February, and the new excitement of fashion trends is coming upon us. From cargo pants to supersized blazers, there are so many fun styles in 2023 already. Unfortunately, I am hearing that skinny jeans are supposed to make a comeback and I disagree completely. I also feel like 2023 is the year of neutral colors and we should say goodbye to neon and bright colors. I think we leave the Y2K fashion in 2022 and bring on more elegant, classy, and old-fashioned looks back in 2023. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think stores like Abercombie, J Crew, Gap, and Old Navy might be making a major comeback. I am excited to see what these stores are going to do this year. Hopefully, we are done shopping at Shein because I am sick of that store. I looked thoroughly through my Tik-Tok feed to pick out my favorite trends so we can all be on top of 2023 fashion. Here are some fashion trends to look out for and that you will want to add to your closet this year!
- Maxi Skirts
I think maxi skirts are coming back into style this year and I am here for it! They will be perfect for summer and are super comfortable. I personally am a fan of a good linen maxi skirt. Maxi skirts give a major clean girl aesthetic and can be paired with so many different tops. They would go best with cute sneakers or maybe some platform sandals.
- Big Chunky Scarves
I’ve seen so many people wearing oversized scarves this winter and I need one asap! I love all the different colors and wearing a scarf is a great way to add a pop of color to your outfit. Plus, they are super soft and warm! I want a blue one so it would be perfect for basketball game days!
- Denim Dresses and Tops
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I love these tops! It reminds me of when Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake wore matching denim on denim outfits, and it was so chic. This style is not for everyone, but I think if you paired it with the perfect bottoms, the outfit would be so cute.
- Off the Shoulder Sweaters
I have become a big sweater girl this winter and I think the off-the-shoulder detail makes the sweater ten times cuter and much more flattering. The sweaters are super cozy and good to pair with jeans if you are going out or even sweats if you are staying in. These would also be cute if you paired a necklace with them!
- Aviator Jackets
If Hailey Bieber has this jacket, I must have this jacket. Don’t we all just want to dress like Hailey Bieber? I want one so bad but unfortunately, they can be kind of pricey. These jackets are perfect for Philly weather and look so warm and cozy. I am putting this on my birthday wish list!
- Longer Tops
Longer tops are coming back and I am here for it. I am ready to put the crop tops away for a bit. The longer tops look more comfortable but also give off a classy, elegant vibe. I have seen Edikted and Brandy Melville making more of these longer tops and they have turned out adorable. No more belly button on display!
