There are some articles of clothing that are essential as a college student. You have so many responsibilities, so dressing nice doesn’t normally make it onto that list. Having to go to class, work, get homework done and be involved with extracurriculars, you don’t always allow the time to dress well. That being said, there are some items you need to have in your closet for those days when you don’t feel like trying.

They’re also super cheap, so you can stock up on them and add more to your collection. You can also opt for athletic leggings, which are a thicker fabric, but just as flexible as a regular pair. Not to mention some come with pockets and are perfect for going to the gym before or after class!

Hoodies are essential for those classes that always seem to be freezing, so they make a great piece for layering with other garments, especially leggings. They can be on the pricier side, but they come in a variety of patterns, so you can find one that is unique to you. They’re always in style and can complete any outfit.

The top you pay the same price as a t-shirt for but way less fabric. Crop tops are less restrictive than regular shirts and also give a nice breeze across your midsection, which is perfect for spring and summer. They are also nice to wear when showing off that $20 belly button piercing. But hey, if you get cold, you can throw on that hoodie.

Ah, sweatpants. Perfect for rolling out of bed and out the door. One those days you’re feeling particularly lazy, a pair of sweatpants should always be on hand to throw on and run out the door. They also make good workout clothes if you plan on hitting the gym between classes. Additionally, they make come in a variety of styles and provide more warmth than leggings in the winter.

Bralettes are infinitely more comfortable than regular bras, even your favorite. There are so many styles and they range in price, depending on the retailer, but are definitely less expensive than a regular bra. They can be used as just a bra or worn as its own top. They are also less bulky than regular bras and allow the girls to breathe more.
