In case you didn’t hear, this semester a smoothie bar opened at Commons Dining Center. It’s open until 1:30, and a great (and healthy!) way to start your morning. You get to choose up to three fruits from a huge variety, one of three juices (apple, pineapple, or orange), spinach, and yogurt. I spent my first few days experimenting with various combinations, and here are some of my favorites!

1. Strawberry, Banana, Blueberry with Apple juice and yogurt: This is the smoothie I get on repeat, every MWF. The banana makes it sweet and blueberries are a super fruit so this is a great way to eat them if you don’t like them alone (like me).

2. Raspberry, Mango with Pineapple juice: My breakfast buddy gets this smoothie on repeat and it is awesome! It’s tropical and it reminds me of spring break.

3. Strawberry, Peach, Blueberry with Apple juice and yogurt: When I want to mix it up, this is what I get. Confession: sometimes I get a smoothie for breakfast and then go back for lunch. It’s an obsession #noshame. The peach is definitely noticeable even with the other ingredients, which is delicious!

4. Blueberry, Banana, Spinach with Apple juice: If you want to be extra healthy, add some spinach to your smoothie. This smoothie has a fantastic green color that was very fitting for Saint Patrick’s Day.

Some general rules of thumb:

1. If you want your smoothie to be sweeter, add banana.

2. The yogurt doesn’t really taste like a lot in your smoothie but it makes the texture smoother and creamier.

3. Don’t forget to thank the worker who makes it for you! Their job is super fast-paced and difficult, so show some appreciation!

Have a great smoothie and a great day!
