A List of Simple Remedies for the Over Extended

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

Being caught between taking full advantage of your college experiences, but also maintaining some peace and relaxation can be tough. Every last one of us can understand how hard it is to practice self-care, especially if you’re not the chocolate and face masks sort of person.

Here are a few things I’ve adopted on some of my most stressed times!

1.) Go to an animal shelter! … and pretend you’re about to buy a kitty or a pup, so they’ll allow you to play with some! When it’s time to purchase, then pretend you have to consult your parent or significant other. Makes my day every time.

2.) Go on a walk … take some music and walk around a part of town you aren’t familiar with! It’s cool and makes you feel like you’re in a music video.

3.) Make yourself a big dinner Cooking yourself a Thanksgiving dinner in the middle of September can make you feel like you’ve got a purpose. Then feast by yourself and fall into a sleep coma.

4.) Listen to Christmas music Despite what everyone says, Christmas music can make you feel really warm and cuddly inside. Close the curtains, turn on Frank Sinatra’s Christmas album and pretend it’s snowy outside!

5.) Watch Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Just take my word for it. It’ll be a time.

Have a great and stress free week, lovelies! HCXO
