Everyone has been to at least one Mellow Mushroom and has experienced the mellow atmosphere. Mellow mushroom has been serving delicious pizza since 1974 and was founded by 3 college students in our very own peach state, in downtown Atlanta. Mellow Mushroom is known for their signature pizzas, beer cheese dipping sauce, and the unique designs within each restaurant. With unique murals and artwork, none of the restaurants designs mimic the other. They are all unified by the name, Mellow Mushroom.
Valdosta was fortunate enough to have a Mellow Mushroom opened this past year. The design was puzzling to many people including myself at first. Driving by and seeing an Incredible Hulk statue and other recognizable movie characters would raise many questions, but when I spoke to an employee they helped me see the vision that they were trying to achieve. He shared a cool fact that many people might not even know about this Mellow Mushroom. The co-owners of Mellow Mushroom, Bo Chambliss, also owns the Georgia Theater Company, the local movie theater down the street from the resturant. This influenced the design and art work placed throughout this particular Mellow Mushroom. When you walk inside you see comic book themed wall designs, a mural of Superman, and even Hulks fist hanging from the wall. This is a movie lover’s paradise and very pleasing to the eye!
