Kailen Mueller is a Senior at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. She will be graduating from UWM this May of 2018 with a bachelors in Communications and a minor in Journalism, Advertising, and Media Studies. Kailen is originally from Lake in the Hills, Illinois and has now found a new home in Milwaukee. She plans on staying in Milwaukee after graduation and will be working for the marketing department at the House of Harley!
She transferred here her Junior year from McHenry County College in Illinois. After leaving her college in Illinois she decided to take a tour of UWM. Her first time touring UWM she fell in love with the school. Not only was the staff kind but so were the students here. She was also excited to find that the communication department was exactly what she was looking for and that the campus was the perfect combination of city and suburbs.
She decided to join HerCampus because she wanted to better her communication skills and being new on-campus she wanted to make some new friends. Exploring Milwaukee and finding cool and exciting restaurants is one of her favorite pass times and helps inspire her writing.
Outside of HerCampus, she is an officer for the Journalism Club on campus. She joined the Journalism Club during her Fall 2016 semester and became an officer during her Fall of 2017 semester! As an officer, she helps promote club events and go to every meeting. But the things she enjoys most about Journalism Club is going on tours to local radio stations, tv stations, and newspapers.
She’s ready to move on to bigger and better things and knows that all the things that she has done here at UWM will help her prepare for what is ahead. Kailen has found a new home in Milwaukee and can’t wait to see what lies ahead after graduation!
