December has always felt like my personal reset button. It’s the one month where I look back on the year and decide what worked and what didn’t. I like to view areas where I could have improved as lessons. In 2026, I am not looking for perfection, but consistency. On days I feel drained, accomplishing the bare minimum of my goals is still progress. Here are five of my goals for 2026.Â
Go to the Gym 4x a Week
Last year, I resolved to go to the gym consistently, and while I’ve kept it up this year, I want to take it even further.. I made it a habit to head to the gym three times a week, but next year, I want to increase it to four times a week. I know I am capable of more, and I actually enjoy the routine now.Â
Drink 2L of Water a DayÂ
Admittedly, I don’t always drink enough water. I do try to drink enough, but maintaining a daily routine is difficult; I don’t always think about it all the time. Next year, I plan to carry water with me wherever I go. If it’s always in my hand, I’ll have no excuse, and hopefully, it’ll even become automatic.Â
Practice French DailyÂ
Recently, I have been hoping to get back into French. I think the language is beautiful, and I want to commit to learning it. I have been practicing it sparingly, but for 2026, I intend to set aside at least 10 minutes a day for polishing my skills. This change feels manageable: a small, consistent effort that helps me move forward.Â
Wake Up EarlierÂ
My sleep schedule is inconsistent at best. One day, I will wake up early, and the next, I’m out of bed past noon. This year, I aim to establish a regular wake-up time around 7 a.m. so my days feel more productive. This resolution is quite possibly the hardest on my list because of how much I enjoy sleeping in, especially when I have nothing to do that day.It is a challenge for sure, but I know I can do it.Â
With all I have accomplished this year, I plan to achieve even more in 2026. I am excited to give these resolutions a try. This time, though, I’m choosing gains over perfection and reminding myself of that, too. I am eager to start these challenges and discover what I’m capable of.
