Meet the Member Monday — Hi, I’m Meghan!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWindsor chapter.

Welcome back to Meet the Member Monday!

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Meghan: a newer member who has the kindest soul.  She is currently in her second-year of English Language and Literature with a minor in Environmental Science. She is a writer, editor, and has been taking on a new position this year as our Writing Team Director! I’m so excited to see her in action. She has been with us since the second semester of her first year.

Let’s get to know more about her:

What brought you to HC UWindsor?

I had heard about other HC chapters at other schools and then one day I received an email from HC UWindsor searching for new members. It sounded like a fun organization to work with, and I thought it would be a great experience. I sent in an application, and here I am today!

What do you do for HC UWindsor?

I am a writer and editor for HC so I write my own articles and edit others. I am taking on a new position this semester keeping the writing schedule organized and making sure our content is amazing for our followers!

What is your favourite colour?

My favourite colour is technically pink, but I also love green and all the fall tones!

Tell us three fun facts about yourself!

  1. I love dinosaurs (Velociraptors are my favourite).

  2. I love learning about the natural world and the amazing capabilities of nature.

  3. I need to make my bed and make sure my room is organized before I start my day.

What is your favourite quote?

I can’t choose one quote because I love so many! Any quote that involves nature or promotes self-care… one of my favourites is, “You gotta nourish to flourish.”

What is your best advice for fellow students?

My best advice is to take care of yourself and do whatever you can to stay organized. School is important but so is your well-being. Staying organized makes stress much easier to manage thus keeping you happy and healthy. If you are ever feeling overwhelmed, don’t be afraid to reach out.

What career do you hope to have once you graduate?

I don’t have a set career plan.. I want to work in editing and publishing or journalism… I also wouldn’t mind teaching university or college. A job in linguistics would be cool too.

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, Meghan is a great member of our team. She is passionate and kind, and she always knows the right thing to say when a member needs support.

That’s all for now! Be sure to come back next week to meet another one of our members.
