Meet the Member Monday — Hi, I’m Carly!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UWindsor chapter.

Welcome back for another week of Meet the Member Monday!

Today, you will be meeting Carly, a member who is in her third year of her English and History double major. Carly is a writer and an editor for our Her Campus chapter.

Now, back to business:

What brought you to HC UWindsor?

In my first year of university, I tried to find different groups that interested me. It was not until I started second year, second semester, that I found out about HC. Wanting to improve my writing and editing skills, I decided to sign up, and the rest is history.

What do you do for HC UWindsor?

I am currently a writer and editor for the chapter. This means that along with creating my own blog posts about things that interest me, I also edit other members’ posts and read what they have written.

What is your favourite colour?

Maroon or mustard yellow. I never seem to own enough in these colours.

Tell us three fun facts about yourself!

I am an avid book lover and always have a book on me, my headphones are practically glued to my ears with how often I listen to music, and I co-own a business specializing in sewing and crochet creations.

(Amy here! Just a side note – her business is called Always September. You can shop at the following link: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/AlwaysSeptemberShop?ref=seller-platform-mcn…)

What is your favourite quote?

“To the stars who listen—and the dreams that are answered” – Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Mist and Fury (P.S. this is also one of my favourite books series and I HIGHLY recommend everyone reads it!)

What is your best advice for fellow students?

Stay organized and LIVE off of your syllabus. You do not realize how busy you get once school starts, and I always find it better to be ahead than behind. The syllabus that the teachers give you at the start of class, DON’T EVER LOSE IT! Keep it in a safe spot, and refer to it as often as possible.

What career do you hope to have once you graduate?

My dream career has always been to be a high school teacher, but I have also toyed with the idea of going into publishing, museum work, or even earning my Master’s in Library Science.

Carly is a great addition to our team and brings a lot of encouragement to our group! As you can see, Carly demonstrates true Her Campus values and gives the best advice with school. We value Carly’s dedication to our group!

Don’t forget to check back next week to meet yet another member of our team!
