She was an ice queen,” jokes third-year acting student, Callum Gunn. “A closed book and a cold soul. It took her a year to come around.”
Miranda MacDougall laughs, “I was just independent, but you definitely ended up melting my ice-queen-heart.”
Callum and Miranda have started a tea company for a special kind of bitter, fermented tea called Kombucha, and they are currently in the process of writing a theatre piece. Born in the city of Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Callum never thought he’d leave acting in New York City for a program in Fine Arts at the University of Windsor. But if he hadn’t come to the decision, he never would have met and fallen for Miranda, a 3rd year student, born in Windsor, Ontario. Callum and Miranda met in their acting class, but spent a year in the same program and sharing many of the same friends, before they finally decided to get together.
“I wrote her a letter over the summer” says Callum. “And when we returned in the fall, things just fit. We were off and on and off and on…”
“And then one day we were just on.” finishes Miranda.
Even though Miranda has graduated but Callum is still in his 3rd year, they manage to stick together.
