‘Tis the season to be loving this month. When I say loving I don’t only mean loving others but it is also includes to love oneself. Here are a few steps on how to find love and confidence in yourself.

Quit social media this step may be useful for some people, social media can be a good thing when it comes to promoting body image and bad. There are social media accounts that promote body positive and this includes all shapes, sizes, gender, sexuality, and race but there aren’t many social media’s that do that. The majority promote either a thin tall body image or a hour glass figure body image, this can be unhealthy to see on a daily basis, multiple times a day, therefore it may be good to quit social media in order for you to not see those images constantly.

Write down 1 thing you love about yourself everyday, for this I recommend looking in the mirror and staring at yourself and to really self reflect and to think about one thing (or more than one)you really love about yourself. This can be both something physical or intellectual.

Appreciating your perfect imperfections. Again I recommend looking in the mirror and reflecting on yourself , an example of a perfect imperfection could be something like my hair is very naturally frizzy and that’s okay b/c it gives me character and something different.

Strutting your imperfections. Being confident and owning in your imperfections is important because it creates inner peace, inner peace means being one with yourself and identity even though it is not the norm or what mainstream media portrays. To be in a constant battle with yourself is exhausting, why not love yourself and be find confidence instead?

Finding inner peace about change. Change will happen whether you want to or not, being at peace with it is so important because sometimes you have no control or maybe you do, either way having it control you in a negative way does nothing good for your health.

Home spa. This is very helpful for those that live a very busy life, make sure to give yourself time to relax and really take care of yourself.

Allowing others to love you. Sometimes we tend to not allow others to love us, for various reasons but it is important to allow that positive love through because they might highlight new things about yourself or help you appreciate different traits within yourself.

With that being said self love is very important for your health and well being and don’t be afraid to put yourself first.
