We’re 90% just stress at this point, and cramming can make it worse. Binge studying can make you second guess everything in your life. Do you understand this material? Does this match your life plan? Do you even like your major? Thankfully, we have study breaks to keep our sanity in check. We just need to maximize the time.

Get Your Schedule Sorted Out

There is chaos approaching. Your usual MWF and TuTh classes aren’t in the schedule anymore, and you need to accomodate finishing projects, last minute study groups, and final exam times. With any luck, your school should have the exam schedule available online, and you can use that to keep things in check. Watch out for the always fun 8pm final!

Squeeze in a Nap

Your exhaustion doesn’t need justification. You haven’t had a full night’s sleep in two weeks, and are well on your way to a Walking Dead extra. It may seem strange to pass out in the library on top of your finance notes, but nobody is going to judge you with what’s around the corner.

Grab a Snack

When was the last time you ate? The last time you ate something that didn’t come out of a vending machine? Your brain needs a lot of support to operate correctly, and feeding yourself well is a big part of that. If there’s ever a time to treat yourself, it’s now!

Try Meditating

You have so much stress inside of you that you could power a locomotive. Get sorted out with some deep breaths, calming music, and breezy thoughts. The more you practice meditation, the easier it’ll get.

Get Inspired

Others have gone through stress like this. They’ve suffered, perservered, and lived to tell the tale. Look to their guidance, wisdom, and words of encouragement. It’s a therapy in itself.

Studying for finals is a stress all it’s own. You’ll need every trick in your arsenal to keep yourself grounded during this time of unpleasantness. Rise and grind!

Stephanie Zengler is a Business Administration major and Communication Studies minor, and she completely understands if you think her last name is actually Ziegler. Like a lot of business majors, Stephanie has a favorite Andrew Carnegie quote, and like a good communication minor, has very strong opinions on the Oxford comma. Aside from being a Stout student, Stephanie is an avid fan of Bay Area sports, Fleetwood Mac, and the amazingly perfect show Dollface.
