5 Kinds of Positive People to Surround Yourself With

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Stout chapter.

In college, we will get the chance to make many friends. It can sometimes be hard to find friends who are always there to support you or lend a helping hand. Always remember that you have the power to choose who you surround yourself with, and who you let influence you. You should always choose to surround yourself with the friends who make a positive impact on your life. Here is a list of some common kinds of positive friends!

The guy friendIn today’s romantic comedy culture, it may seem rare to have a guy-girl friendship that is mutually platonic. If you have a guy friend who you can call anytime and count on them to be there for you, you’ve struck gold. Guy friends can be super fun and easy going. You will never expect any drama with a good guy friend!

The mom friendThe mom friend is always going to be looking out for you. These friends are most likely out of the bunch to bring snacks to share.  You know they look out for your best interest in everything, and you can always count on them to say: “Text me when you make it home safe!”.

The fun friendThis friend is spontaneous, funny, and always down to have a good time. It is hard not to feel upbeat and positive when you are around this friend. This is the friend you can call after a rough day and count on them to cheer you up!

The chill friendThis friend is great to have around when you want someone to hang out with >>>This seems weird to read, i would just write as one-one-one>>>1:1. This friend is super easy-going about making plans, and they don’t have time for drama. They are typically very down to earth and easygoing about pretty much everything!

The goal setter friendThis friend is hungry for success and their ambition is contagious. Together, you always strive to become better versions of yourselves. Whether it is going to a coffee shop for a productive study date or hitting a workout class together, the goal-setter friend is the one you call.
