Oktoberfest is on the horizon. It’s the calm (or stress) before the storm. Students are cramming to get papers and assignments done before the weekend and the party commences. Then, in only a matter of 3 days the homework resumes. So, how are you going to make sure that you get the most out of your Oktoberfest weekend? Why with this fabulous and convenient 2015 Oktoberfest Bucket list, of course!

1. 2015 Torchlight Parade

Thursday Oct. 1 at 7pm is Oktoberfest’s opening day and parade kick-off to a fun-filled weekend!

2. Kegs and Eggs

Join Howie’s Friday, Oct. 2 from 6 to 9am for a buffet of breakfast!

3. Edelweiss Parade and the tapping of the Golden Keg.

The Edelweiss Parade is 10 to 11am on Friday, Oct. 2 and will begin near the La Crosse Convention and Visitors Bureau Office. Afterwards, join in on the celebration and arrival of the Golden Keg! This event is truly a symbolic anniversary moment you don’t want to miss.

4. State Street and La Crosse nightlife.

Music, people dressed up in German costumes and knee-high socks—it’s basically free entertainment. You haven’t seen downtown La Crosse quite like this before. If you’re 21+ plan on making it DT at least once to experience the best of La Crosse nightlife!

5. 2015 Maple Leaf Parade.

Don’t be worried about being late to this exceptionally long parade. Tailgate with a bunch of friends and family to make an afternoon out of it! It starts at 10am on Saturday, Oct. 3 and the celebration lasts all day!

6. Cookout with friends back home!

If you can’t tailgate downtown, get together with your neighbors in the comfort of your parking lot or lawn to grill out, play music and throw the ball around!

7. Oktoberfest grounds.

Get a 2015 Oktoberfest button to get into the land of Oktoberfest. Experience all the food, music, craft beers and characters of La Crosse!

Have a fun and safe Oktoberfest weekend, UWL!
