Campus Cutie: The One and Only Caleb Colòn-Rivera

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UW Lax chapter.

Name: Caleb Colòn-Rivera

Hometown: Cottage Grove, Minnesota

What year are you at UW-La Crosse?  Super Senior if you have to ask.

Major/Minor: Double Major in Psychology and Communication Studies with an emphasis in Broadcast and Digital Media.

Relationship status? Single; but not necessarily sleeping alone. ;)

What campus and/or community activities are you involved with? Right now, Nothing. But I was involved with Sanford Hall as their Publicity and Programming Coordinator as well as LASO. Now I work too much and live off campus to attend anything.

What is your favorite thing about La Crosse? The bluffs are the most beautiful thing. I live right by them so I get to look at them all the time.

Biggest pet peeve: Ignorance, bad kissers, and lip smackers.

Who’s your biggest role model and inspiration? Angelina Jolie and the holy trinity: Beyonce, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj. All of these wonderful women are unapologetic about who they are and inspire hope amongst many people.

Describe an ideal date: Dinner at one of my favorite places called the Taste of India over on Jackson and then a walk around riverside with ice cream in hand and non-stop talking about things that inspire us and current events.

Describe yourself in three words: Charismatic. Mischievous. Curious.

Favorite food: Love Indian food and my favorite is Chicken Tikka Masala

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to? Right now I am obsessed with trap and house music due to having some DJ friends and seeing them at their shows. Otherwise you could find me listening to Janelle Monae and Erykah Badu and other similar artists.

Favorite song to dance to at a party: I am in love with Rather Be by Clean Bandit.

Where are you most likely to be found on a Friday night? During wedding season and the winter you can find me in bed reading or watching Netflix. But when it comes summer time, I am roaming the streets with my friends.

What are the qualities you find most attractive in a girl/guy? They have to be aware of current events and be able to talk about certain issues such as racism, sexism, etc. I find independent people really attractive because they are off doing their own thing, as am I, and we can meet up at the end of the day/week and talk about it all. I really appreciate people with drive to change the world as well.

What is the first thing you notice about a girl/guy? Teeth! I am a huge fan of nice teeth and you can usually find me staring at their mouth. I love the way people talk.

What’s your go to pick up line? It’s not really a pick up line but it has worked on multiple occasions, “ So are you going to get my number or what?”

What is your dream job? I’m living it! I am working as a Wedding Planner with a small business downtown! I love it. Eventually I want to have my own office or maybe go into being an anchor or news writer.

How does it feel to be featured as a campus cutie? It is super exciting! Just to have different kinds of people with all different backgrounds is really refreshing. I’m sure a lot of queer students will really appreciate seeing someone who is kind of like them on a site like this. It’s another step closer to inclusivity!
