In the era of Zoom school, at home eating is more prevalent than ever. Most days I’m in my room, hopping from Zoom call to Zoom call. Some days are so jam packed with lectures and homework that I often don’t have time to truly prepare lunch. I definitely snack way more now, but chips and cookies don’t give me the energy and boost I really need to make it through the day. Here are some snacks I’ve been eating to energize me and make me feel great when lunch/dinner might be a little bit later than I’m used to. I hope they can help you too! Healthy eating is so good not only for your body but for your mind, which is so important during these times.

Yogurt

Yogurt is always one of my go-to’s because it’s so refreshing. I’m almost always in the mood for it, and there’s so many flavors to choose from if you get bored of one after a while. I’m personally a strawberry girl myself! Even better, yogurt has probiotics which can be good for you!

Rice cakes

A pretty yummy light snack that is quick and easy are rice cakes. On their own they can be a little bland, so I suggest adding some peanut butter for added taste and protein. These are delicious any time of the day and great for giving you that extra boost before your next Zoom at 12!

Pistachios/nuts

An easy snack that you can even eat while watching a lecture are pistachios, like I prefer, or any kind of nut. They are so easy to grab and snack on while you do work yet provide a little bit of fuel and won’t make you feel sick afterwards. Trail mixes would also be a great snack with a bit more variety!

Hard boiled eggs

If you’re like me, I rarely wake up early enough to eat a big breakfast. Sometimes I don’t even feel like making toast, especially if I have class in 15 minutes! My favorite quick breakfast is a hard-boiled egg or two. They are so easy to boil the night before and refrigerate until you eat. Or, if you don’t even want to do that much, pre-peeled and boiled eggs can be found in bags at the grocery store!

Fruits & veggies

Fruits are an obvious healthy snack that can satisfy your sweet tooth. I love bananas due to their easy storage and lack of need for preparation. Raspberries are a common favorite. Baby carrots with ranch would also be a great snack, as well as cherry tomatoes. Any small fruit is great in a rush as they require no sort of cutting or preparation, just for you to eat and enjoy!

Snacking can be easy AND delicious, with just a little bit of thought! Pick and choose what sounds best to you and enjoy those snacks in between your Zoom classes.
