Oh Pickles. Chicken N Pickle!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UTSA chapter.

I can be weird I always say “pickles” when I mess up or get frustrated but hey so does this restaurant! Sounds weird, right? Well, I should clarify, they do not technically say pickles. The name of this restaurant is Chicken N Pickle.

When I tell you, this place is so cute and fun and delicious I am not even kidding! This is an energetic and entertaining place to grab a “bite” (Halloween vampire pun), play games, grab a drink, or even have a date. It is a huge place with pickleball courts, outdoor games, ping pong, foosball, and more!

We all know what tennis is, I mean I hope most of us know what it is. But hey, some of us may never have heard of pickleball? Isn’t a pickle something you eat? (FYI, their fried pickles are amazing)! Getting back to my point, it is a sport with 2-4 players using a solid wood paddle with rules related to tennis and the court somewhat like a badminton court. If you would like to learn more about this unique sport, go to their website → chickennpickle.com

The cool thing about this chicken n pickle place is that if you want to learn how to play pickleball then they’ve got you! There are lessons and leagues they offer, like who would’ve thought?  Okay, okay, other than pickleball, there are so many different kinds of events that go on! From comedians to game nights, yoga, brunch & bingo, to cheering on football teams (GO RUNNERS!) on the many TV screens, this place is always poppin!

Do not worry by the way if you are wondering about COVID and how all these fun activities can happen safely. Social distancing is practiced, I can testify to that. Concerning the pickleball courts, there are times when they close for sanitization before someone new uses the courts. I can guarantee you that you all can still be safe and experience all the fun this amazing restaurant has to offer! Get a group of friends, your family, or a hot date and go experience this place for yourselves! Do not forget to try the fried pickles!
