Everything You Need to Know About the First Week of Spring Roadrunner Days

Hello Spring Semester!

 

Winter break is over, but the fun has just begun!

In honor of UTSA’s 50th anniversary, Roadrunner Days are being held in the Spring for the first time ever! The festivities kicked off a few days ago with Move-In Day on Friday, and Men’s Basketball vs. UNT on Saturday.

Here is the itinerary for the first week of Roadrunner Days:

Monday, January 14:

First Day of Spring Classes

  • Happy Syllabus Week — Enjoy it while you can!

UTSA Swag Day

  • Wear Blue and Orange to show your ‘Runner pride.

Spring Welcome and UTSA’s 50th Anniversary Kickoff

  • 10am to 2pm at the Paseo

UTSA offices will have information and fun activities. There will also be free stuff such as t-shirts, FastPass garage parking cards, and UTSA dining cards.

Tuesday, January 15

Roadrunners Rumble

  • 7:30 pm at the Convo

Meet your UTSA spring sport athletes at this fun event hosted by Roadrunner Productions!

Wednesday, January 16

  • Roadrunner Success Walk

TRC Tutoring Services – John Peace Library (2nd Fl., South Commons, JPL 2.01.12)

Academic Success Coaching – Multidisciplinary Studies Bldg (MS 1.02.02)

Library Services – John Peace Library (JPL 2nd Fl. Information Desk)

TRC Supplemental Instruction – John Peace Library (JPL 4.02.08)

Learn more about various academic services here at UTSA at the Roadrunner Success Walk. By checking in at the four locations listed above, you are entered into the contest for 2 grand prizes–  A Microsoft Surface Pro Tablet or an Ultimate Campus Services Prize Pack. Thursday, January 17

A New Year, A Better You

  • 10am- 2pm at the Sombrilla

Stay on top of your physical and mental health this semester. Reps from the Campus Rec, Health Services, and Counselling will be sharing ways to stay healthy.

  • 7pm at the Convo

Friday, January 18

Huge Networking Social

  • 11am-2pm at the H-E-B SU Ballrooms

Come out and network with your fellow Roadrunners at this casual event hosted by the Student Center for Community Engagement and Inclusion.

UCinema: Selma

  • 6pm and 9pm at the SU Retama auditorium

The first screening at the UCinema is Selma, which is appropriate heading into the Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend.

Saturday, January 19

Rowdy Crew Tailgate

  • 12pm outside the Convo

Get into your UTSA spirit before the tip off of the Women’s Basketball game!

Women’s Basketball vs. UAB.

  • 1pm at the Convo​​​​​

UCinema: Selma

  • 7pm at the SU Retama auditorium

There is no class on Monday, January 21. Join the UTSA community at The San Antonio Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March. Busses will be available at Main Campus and Downtown Campus for UTSA students, faculty, and staff.

Lauren is currently a senior at UTSA who is obsessed with anything involving music and pop culture. She is one of the Campus Correspondents for HC UTSA, and is in charge of social media and editing.
