Pho Spots in Utah That Are A Must

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

The weather is always changing in Utah. With everyone hoping for an early spring, Mother Nature turns a wicked eye and drenches us with sleet again. In times like these, the perfect food to stick into that empty belly is a hot, savory bowl of pho.

I am not a pho expert, but I am obsessed with it and have been to plenty restaurants that serve it. Here are a few places in Utah that I can recommend!

1. La Cai Noodle House $$

Don’t confuse the name with the fancy French restaurant, La Caille. This noodle house provides a wide range of delicious Vietnamese foods. In my opinion, as well as many other reviews, their pho is really good. Their broth is delicious, but their noodles seem to have a lot of breakage. The service is usually pretty fast, unless it’s lunch break or they’re right in the midst of dinner. They are decently priced and the servings are big, so definitely leave some room in your tummy before you go!

2. Saigon Sandwich $

This little shop in Sandy opened a few months ago, and the reviews have been absolutely fantastic. Their prices are so cheap, and the food is phenomenal. They have a two different sizes of pho and they have a great combination of meats (or not meat) you could have in it as well. Their pho may not look the best, but the taste beats its looks by far. The service is speedy even when they have a lot of customers. They also have some of the best banh mi I have tasted. Did I mention they have cheap prices? If you’re broke, this is the place to go.

3. Pho 33 $$

Believe it or not, this was the first place I ever went to eat pho. This is where my passion for pho developed. Although their pho is pretty mouthwatering, it is not my first recommendation, just because their service is a bit slow. They usually do not have many customers, even though the restaurant is pretty big. Pho 33 provides three different sizes of bowls to accommodate your noodles. Of course, the price increases as you order a larger bowl.

4. Oh Mai $

Oh Mai was also one of the first places where I tasted pho. Their pho is decent, but not overwhelming delightful. They’re also known for their banh mi, which again doesn’t beat Saigon Sandwich. Because this is a chain restaurant, you can find a lot of them in Utah, so basically there’s probably a close one to you right now. Now, the only reason this place is mentioned is because it is well known by many people. Compared to the restaurants mentioned above though, it definitely does not have the best. Environment-wise, all the Oh Mai’s I have been to are very cozy and cutely decorated.
