Her Campus Utah reporting to you with another Member of the Month. What can I say? We can’t help but gush about our incredible team! Albeit a little late, but here is November’s member of the month, the extraordinary Emily Martin. Emily is a junior at the University of Utah who is majoring in Biology and is a long time writer for Her Campus Utah.
While introverted, underneath all of the layers of humility you will find that Emily is loyal, empathetic, and incredibly intelligent. Among many attributes, Emily’s biting sarcasm sets her apart from the rest of the crowd. When she’s not working fervently you can find Emily dancing like there is no tomorrow. Fueled by an intense work ethic and a burning desire to better the world around her. Emily is determined to be the best person she can be, while preserving the diversity of the world around her. In both human and non-human realms of life. She hopes to better the world by lasting contributions through her research and a legacy of kindness.
Undoubtedly Emily’s favorite book is, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. It’s never failed to make her cry. Emily is such a spectacularly pure soul that if she could know one thing about her future, she would simply want to know whether or not she’d be happy. Emily can be found on campus finding absolutely ridiculous things and laughing endlessly about them. And since I know you’re all DYING to know her Hogwarts house is Hufflepuff, and her star sign is the all powerful Leo (I’m a Leo too, I can’t help but boast them up a bit).
Emily got her start as a writer for Her Campus actually by being one of our few STEM majors. Well more specifically, because she missed writing in a casual and pleasurable fashion. Luckily Her Campus Utah has been fortunate enough to fill that hole, all while gaining an insurmountable amount of talent.
Well there you go. I’m glad to be able to present you with yet another incredible member of the Her Campus Utah team. I hope you’ve enjoyed and have come to appreciate the outstanding Emily Martin. As a parting piece of Emily’s wisdom, I’ll leave you with her favorite quote. “Yet love can move people to act in unexpected ways and move them to overcome the most daunting obstacles with startling heroism”– Khaled Hosseini
