Coming to You Live From Hawaii

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

Before I begin sharing all of the details about living on a beautiful sunny island, I want you to not be jealous, but appreciate how amazing Utah is! The first thing I want to tell you about moving to a new place so far away from home, is realizing the amazing things I left behind. For example, my lifestyle as a college student with an amazing group of friends, the rad restaurants, coffee shops, and all the other quirks that creates SLC. I knew my life would change living in Hawaii, but I did not realize how different my life would actually be.

I wake up before the sun since wild roosters seem to be everywhere! They will “CockAlDooDalDoo” as early as 4:00 a.m. This is not as bad as you may think since I’m now going to bed at 7:30 p.m. Why I’m going to bed earlier than your grandparents you may ask? There is no nightlife here. Stores, restaurants, and beach crowds clear out by 9:00 p.m. I fill my early mornings, day, and night with my job and of course exploring!  The adventures out here are endless. I am exhausted by the end of the day because the island is one big playground when the sun is up. Snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking the Napali Coast, the different shores and beaches, surfing, you name it and you can go do it.

So, live vicariously through me these next seven months as I tell you all about this amazing adventure I’m on!
