Best Places for Lunch on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

Trying to find a new lunch spot on campus isn’t one of the easiest things, especially when you are trying to get to a class. So we’ve done all that exploring for you! Here is a list of the six best places to eat on campus:

  1. Tony Caputo’s – Tanner Humanities Building

Great sandwiches and coffee! The Caputo is the signature sandwich and a U of U favorite. Be sure to come hungry because the sandwiches are huge! The staff is friendly and the service is fast, making this the perfect place for a quick snack in between classes.

2. Counsel Cafe – Law Building

Sandwiches, soups, and salad. The best part? They take Flex! A fan favorite is the number 5, a turkey sandwich with heirloom tomatoes, sun dried tomato aioli, and provolone!

3. Lassonde Cafe – Lassonde Studios

Great made-to-order flatbreads, wraps, and salads in a creative atmosphere! Lassonde is the newest building on campus and is located right above the Humanities Building and is home to 412 students.

4. Student Life Center

This campus cafe has crepes, rice bowls, salads, and flatbreads! It is the perfect place to grab a snack after your work out or have lunch while studying. There is a ton of parking close by, a bonus for all the commuters!

5. Two Creek Coffee House – Browning Building

Two Creek is the perfect place for a quick snack and cup of coffee. It is located near the engineering building, home to some of the friendliest baristas on campus, and just may be the U of U’s best kept secret.

6. Crimson View – Union

Located on the 4th floor of the Union Crimson View is a well kept secret and a hot spot for students looking for food other than what is offered downstairs. Some of their most popular items are the grilled cheese, burger, and mac & cheese. Every meal comes with a free drink and every table has a great view of the campus and Salt Lake City!
