We have an AMAZING campus – no doubt about it. I think students who come to campus just to go to class are crazy! There are a myriad of things going on all the time; how can you let class be the only thing your tuition is good for? We paid the money, now let’s play. These 3 things are some of my favorites! And if you haven’t done them, don’t worry, there’s still time!
GO TO A FOOTBALL GAME
Ladies, football is actually way fun! You don’t need to know a single thing about it to have a good time! (But click here, for a run-down of the rules) Football games at The U are a big deal. Join in the fun! Our team is doing great this year and the boys could use everyone’s support to continue doing so. Did you know we’re a nationally ranked team? That means we’re playing really good teams and hanging in there! You don’t want to miss the action going on. There are many ways to get involved. Go tailgating! There are huge tailgating parties before every game. Find some friends, grab some beers (or soda), lots of food, and you’re ready for the tailgate!
Join the MUSS! MUSS stands for Mighty Utah Student Section. And that’s exactly what the student section is! It’s wild, loud, and lots of fun. The MUSS has been recognized as one of the best student sections. There’s no reason to not go! All students get 1 free ticket, all you need to remember is to wear red.
SEE A PLAY AT PIONEER THEATRE
Skip the movie night and go see one of the absolutely fabulous plays put on at Pioneer Theatre. They have an amazing cast who perform all kinds of different genres! This theater is on campus and students get free tickets to certain plays. Whether for date night – or an excuse to avoid homework – you won’t regret choosing Pioneer Theatre!
VOLUNTEER THROUGH THE BENNION CENTER
The University of Utah puts a lot of emphasis on giving back to the community. I mean really – how lucky are we to live in such a beautiful place with amazing people? Giving back through volunteer work is an incredible feeling. The Bennion Center is a department dedicated to helping students find the perfect place to donate their time. This place is a resource that should be utilized! If you want to get involved in your community but not sure how – this is the place for you.
