  1. 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” As a huge worrier, and someone who becomes easily overwhelmed and stressed, this verse brings about so much peace. Lay your burdens at His feet, because He really, truly cares.

  2. Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” God’s grace COVERS, wherever we go, whatever we do and with each trial we are challenged by, we are told not to be frightened because God IS on our side.

  3. Psalm 61:2 “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” When your heart is overwhelmed, who do you turn to? Your mom, a best friend, sibling or Jesus? For me it’s all of the above. When I go to God in prayer, immediately a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. This verse I believe was written to make us feel small in the best way. When you are overwhelmed, humble yourself, go to God.

  4. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This is one of my all-time favorite, go-to verses. I am the biggest freak about plans, and God is constantly reminding me that it isn’t about my plans, but His.

  5. Deuteronomy 31:8 “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” At some point in our lives we have felt left behind, alone or excluded. But what we have to understand is God is not your middle school best friend that left you out of the sleepover, or your first boyfriend that broke your heart in half, but an all-knowing, almighty power that walks with you daily. We are instructed not to fear because his absence is non-existent.
