WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: Benefits of Positive Thinking

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

As college students we all have days where homework, exams, work and millions of responsibilities simply overwhelm us. Guess what? Even during those days we can think positively. Being positive during a bad situation is really simple. You only have to focus on the positive outcome and voilà!

Did you know positive thinking has a big influence in your life? The influence can be found physically and mentally. Being positive is not just a nice way to live. It’s the way to live.  When you include this philosophy in your daily routine, your life is going to be transformed. Not many people have the opportunity to see how wonderful life is. Life is amazing after you see the world with a new pair of lens.

Here’s a list of helpful links to learn EVERYTHING about positive thinking:

Why not try it? It’s free and easy! The good thing is that you are going to see positive results immediately. Positive thinkers are healthier and less stressed.  They have a greater overall well-being.

According to the researchers Danner, Snowdon, and Friesen (2001) from the University of Kentucky positive people live longer. When you start thinking out of the box you are able to make better decisions under pressure. Once you regularly express positive emotions you are more resilient when facing stress, challenges and adversity. It’s the perfect energy for college students!

Positive thinkers are able to maintain a broader perspective.  After you see the big picture of the problem it helps you identify solutions. In contrast, negative people maintain a narrower perspective and tend to focus on problems.

Remember you have the power to choose your path. Attracting positive energy will increase your social relationships and higher chances to achieve greater success in any area. The beginning of a wonderful future starts today. Begin a new journey where positivism is your motto.

Collegiettes™ have fun and inspire others!

From an early age Lucielle Salomon discovered her passion for the media. Becoming a media person has and is her goal in life. Energy, passion and laughter describe her. Having the opportunity to participate in different extracurricular events and becoming a professional model helped her become a confident and outgoing individual. Salomon considers herself as a person that embraces change due to her family relocating in different places over the years. Fashion is her passion. Further than clothes fashion is attitude and Salomon goes for it! Beyond her talent Lucielle always knew she had to follow her dream wherever it took her. “It does not matter what your dream is, it is what you do to accomplish it”. It’s a quote that is present in every decision she makes. Lucielle would love you profoundly, if you follow her on instagram/twitter: @luciellesalomon
