You know that moment when you’re about to leave the house or are already out and your mom realizes you’re not wearing a bra? Whether you’ve experienced it or not, we’ve all been called out and shamed for not wearing a bra. But why? Not wearing a bra has many benefits, and I am here to tell you about them. Feel free to send this article to the next person who tries to neutralize your nip.

Let\'s Talk About Nipples

Contrary to popular belief, not wearing a bra helps your breast shape and encourages perkiness. I know you’d think that since the bra is pushing up your boobs, it would keep them perky. But, in reality, by having your boobs held up, gravity pulls harder on them since they are resisting. You know, they get more potential energy. Sorry, didn’t mean to take you back to physical science class. By having your boobs in a natural state (A.K.A bra-less) they’re free to take shape and sit where they belong. It’s also been proven that not wearing a bra improves your circulation, which overall, has many benefits like better sleep and healthier breast tissue. Tightness from your bra, especially if you are wearing the wrong size, can also cause acne, infections, and sweat build up.

So, what’s the next step? If you’re scared others will judge when your nipples get hard (which is a totally normal thing that happens to everyone), then just start off with baggy clothing like hoodies or oversized shirts. Eventually, you’ll work up the courage to rock your nips in any outfit. I used to always wear bras, even at sleepovers, and now I can’t stand them. The only time I wear a bra is when I’m working out or at work. Even then, they’re only sports bras.

At the end of the day, it’s about what makes you feel comfortable. Don’t let anyone tell you how to live your life. Now go on girl, free those nips!

Hi my name is Carolina Carreno. I was born in Miami but came to Tampa to "attend" (thanks covid) USF. Go Bulls! I am majoring in Public Relations and Advertising, but I'm really a journalism major at heart. I love to write and post on my story all the time; follow me @caro7238 on Instagram. I like talking about things that are not usually discussed because the more we bring it up, the more comfortable we get with that topic. I hope you can get a sense of my personality through my writing, and you can relate to it.
