Her Campus Launch Party Recap!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USF chapter.

We are pleased to announce that the Her Campus USF Launch Party that was held this past Saturday, September 15, was a huge success! Now of course, Her Campus President Ashley Weinaug wouldn’t have it any other way but amazing. She did a fabulous job putting together the event and representing the organization with classy decorations, activities for guests, giveaways and making sure that everyone was having a great time. She made her rounds visiting every guest and kept the party going all night long.

Many of the Her Campus members came dressed to impress and arrived promptly by 7:00 p.m., along with their guests at the Sacred Grounds Coffee House in Tampa. Everyone loved the venue choice, since they serve delicious food and are one of the best coffee houses in town with all of their tasty coffee selections. Upon arrival, guests were asked to like HC USF on Facebook and were given a raffle ticket in return for a chance to win gift cards to Peabody’s and Taco Bus, a Taco Bus T-shirt, an autographed mini-poster and a copy of the “First Time” single from our Music Monday artist Melanie Lynx, plus giveaways from Planet Beach, Surf or City and Crème de la Crème. The USF Loves Pink ladies also joined in on their own raffle and giveaways as well. Guest enjoyed having them at the launch event as we got to learn more about their organization and their mission to promote Victoria Secret Pink at USF through fun events, merchandise and philanthropy.

Besides chatting, making new friends and enjoying creative, yummy cupcakes from The Cuppin’ Cake Truck, guests were invited to enjoy free henna by two amazing henna artists; Alisha Ladha and Crupa Kurien. They created elaborate designs on guest’s hands, wrists, arms and ankles. Some guests went all out and chose large designs, while others kept it simple and requested a lovely, smaller design. It was up to the guest what they wanted and the henna artists were more than willing to fulfill any request. Another fun activity offered was hair chalking by HC member Michelle Canete. Guests could choose from pretty colors such as pink, purple and blue. Michelle did a great job chalking many of the guests’ locks and keeping up with them all in a timely manner. Guests were also invited to have a photo taken in front of a HC backdrop by photographer Nicholas Pelak to remember the launch party forever. Check out photos from the event in our photoblog this week!

Overall, the Her Campus USF Launch Party was a lot of fun and very successful. It had a great turn out and we all enjoyed getting to know the HC members and readers better. We want to thank everyone who helped make the launch party possible, from the members who participated in setting up and assisting throughout the party, to our donators and all who provided us with swag to enjoy a night with Her Campus USF. We hope that all guests enjoy and continue to read our articles and will join us in all of our future events.
