8 Hanukkah Gifts Every ’90s Girl Will Recognize

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at URI chapter.

Hanukkah is right around the corner! While your busy preparing for eight crazy nights full of food, family and gifts (in-between time spent studying for final exams, of course) why not stop and reminisce on some of the gifts you probably received as child. Despite seeming silly now, these gifts were the envy of most ’90’s girls and were probably (definitely) on your childhood wish list.

1. Easy Bake Oven

Also probably came with instructions from your parents to “Be careful and not burn the house down”.

2. Rollerblades

Inspired by Gabriella from Disney’s Brink!

3. Furby

Creepy but cute in a way? Mostly creepy.

4. Lisa Frank ANYTHING

Stickers, folders, pencil cases, erasers, notebooks, lunch boxes, you name it. To be honest, most of us were probably happy receiving a single Lisa Frank product for every night of Hanukkah.

5. Beanie Babies

Don’t lie, you and your siblings definitely received a matching set of beanie babies from one of your relatives during at least one Hanukkah.

6. Polly Pocket

Had to collect them all, from the underwater grotto to, if you were lucky enough, the Polly Pocket mansion.

7. “Skip-It”

“Hey now kids come gather ’round, see what just skipped into town; so skip it, skip it, you want to jump to the top, skip it, skip it, skippin’ and a screamin’ and bop shoo bop; cause the very best thing of all, there’s a, counter on this ball, so try to beat your very best score, see if you can jump a whole lot more!”

8. American Girl Dolls

This was like THE Hanukkah gift of all Hanukkah gifts for ’90’s girls, and was most likely reserved as a “special present” for the eighth night.
