Motivational Quotes to Power Through From Midterms to Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UPRM chapter.

There is nothing better than a good book, song, movie, or TV show to get you through tough times. Finals are fast approaching, and with that comes a lot of stress, anxiety, and self doubt. Here is a selection of uplifting quotes to help you combat those negative feelings.

  1. “Nothing ever happens like you imagine it will. But then again, if you don’t imagine, nothing ever happens at all.” — John Green, Paper Towns

  2. “You don’t get to pick where you’re from, but you always have control of where you’re going.” — Chris Colfer, Struck By Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal

  3. “It’s not moving on, Libbs. It’s moving differently. That’s all it is. Different life. Different world. We don’t ever leave that old world behind. We just create a new one.” — Jennifer Niven, Holding Up the Universe

  4.  “Hope, it is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective, a lot of hope is dangerous.” — Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

  5.  “…because a life without meaning, without drive or focus, without dreams or goals, isn’t a life worth living.” — Chris Colfer, Struck By Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal

  6.  “We need never be hopeless, because we can never be irreparably broken. We think that we are invincible because we are.” — John Green, Looking for Alaska

  7.  “In order to rise from its own ashes, a Phoenix first must burn.” — Octavia Butler, The Parable of the Sower

  8.  “The thing I realize is, that it’s not what you take, it’s what you leave.” — Jennifer Niven, All the Bright Places

  9.  “The trick is to recognize your mistakes, take what you need from them, and move on.” — Tamara Ireland Stone, Every Last Word

  10.  “It won’t be forever. You’ll be in the dark for as long as it takes and then you’ll come out.” — Sophie Kinsella, Finding Audrey

  11.  “Everything’s a risk. Not doing anything is a risk. It’s up to you.” — Nicola Yoon, Everything, Everything

  12.  “Underneath this veneer of slightly crazy and mildly socially retarded, I’m a complete disaster.” — Rainbow Rowell, Fangirl (Not really all that motivational, but totally  relatable and realistic while going through midterms and finals.)
