Don’t we all enjoy a good love story? We might even go through days worth of movies looking for one that will melt our hearts. But we often tend to forget that these beautiful stories happen in real life as well. Yadiel Alejandro and Kevin just recently reached ten months together; this couple is kind of goals. Having practically nothing in common, meeting in a very interesting way, and being separated just after Alejandro and Kevin started dating, they have surpassed every obstacle and have only gotten stronger.
Alejandro and Kevin had exchanged looks before officially meeting, but on the last day of their chemistry class in May, Kevin took the matter into his own hands. Kevin looked through the long list of email from students until he finally found Alejandro and then sent him an email. After that, they exchanged a few emails until Alejandro invited Kevin to the movies. There wasn’t electricity for a while in the cinema and, with all the mix ups, they never saw each other, which made them think that they had been stood up. Alejandro emailed Kevin yet again to set the record straight and invited him over to eat. After their weird start and not-so-official date, they started dating but, when finals were over, Alejandro had to go back to his hometown of Orocovis and Kevin, who is from Aguada, travels everyday to Colegio.
Summer was particularly hard for them, they were apart having just practically met. They would stay in touch by talking on the phone or even through Skype, but sometimes communication was limited. They both wanted to spend time with their families, attend social gatherings, and Kevin was taking a summer class that demanded lots of attention. However, with the help of their families they managed to surprise visit one another at their home towns and spend some time together. Both of their families are very supportive of the relationship. They managed to stay together, but there was still a long way to go.
They are two very different people, they usually disagree, and often have very different points of view. Alejandro who is an outspoken, handsome ginger is very talkative, out there, very dedicated -relating to his studies- and had never been interested in dating before graduating from Colegio, which is why he calls Kevin his favorite exception. Kevin, however, is very chill and laid back, very thoughtful, and really enjoys art, which Alejandro doesn’t care much for. But even when they don’t have much in common, they have shared some difficult times together. Alejandro is at a great distance from his hometown and family which can take its toll from time to time, and, just last year, he was hospitalized for more than five days, but Kevin has been there to take care of him. And to make their relationship more special, this last Valentine’s was their first with a partner, which they celebrated with a candle light dinner.
Despite all odds, these guys have found each other and are immensely happy together. “Our differences are what made us click; it’s never boring,” they shared. Kevin and Alejandro already have plans for when they graduate which are to move to New York and start their careers there. “He has made me really happy,” Kevin said looking and smiling at Alejandro. When you are in the presence of this couple you can feel the chemistry and understand why they truly belong together. If you don’t believe in true love when seeing them together, I don’t know what will make you believe.
This is an album where they keep the memories of their relationship (even the screenshot of their first e-mail), the box is full of pictures of their plans for their future, and finally the jar which is called “366 Opportunities” is where they have papers written with the reasons why they love each other.
