Poetic Mondays: Why Cry About A Boy?

Poetic Mondays: Why cry about about a boy?

Why cry about a boy? Why cry about anyone if you know that they’re not going to be crying for you? If you spend your time looking for love and upset about the places where you didn’t find it then you will be too occupied to notice it when it really comes, letting it fly by.  Even so this author is trying to tell us that the most important thing about love is loving yourself first. So love yourself people, and a good way to start doing that is by reading this poem.

“I love you, but I love me more”

One day you’ll wake up

And you’ll realize that

everything you cared for

Is gonna be gone.

From your first love

To your very last tear

All because you were too busy

Looking back at the good ol’ years.

Why cry about a boy?

Why smile when someone sings a happy song?

Stop caring about the silly things

That’s when you’re gonna start living.

So don’t you worry your little mind

Love isn’t the primary thing in life.

More important are the times that you smiled

The times that you transitioned from a follower to leader

When you turned into an achiever.

Why fall hard for someone,

When you don’t see yourself for who you really are?

Next time someone says “I love you”

Smile, giggle and say:

“I love me too.”
