   Excerpt to a lover I had to forget…

   It was so silly of you to ask
    why my heart raced so fast
    like it danced in my rib cage
    to a rhythm unknown to you.

      It was silly because
      lying there beside me
     with your head to my chest
      my heart raced for you.

   And you still asked why.
