Let us give thanks that it’s Monday again.

Let us give thanks that there’s another poem.

Let us give thanks that you’re here to read it.

Since we’re in a thanking mood because of Thanksgiving, this Monday we feature a poem in Spanish to show how thankful we are of our culture and language here in HCUPR. Enjoy!

Ohhh… I almost forgot to give thanks for our awesome readers! Thank you, you’re the best!! (don’t tell the readers from the other chapters that we said that, they might get jealous)

Quiero moverme

en la brisa y caer

sin miedo a perderme.

Bailar con el sol

sin miedo a quemarme.

Estar en consonancia

con el sinsentido.

Porque extraño

el verdor de mi piel

y el ámbar de mis

ojos aún cerrados.

Nostalgia en mi (í,)

madurez he encontrado.

Que ni la nieve

se me hace blanca ya,

ni las olas tan grandes.

Raíces eché,

porque no me dijeron

que después de florecer

no serviría más.

Nostalgia en mi (í,)

madurez he encontrado.
