As the fall semester comes to a close, Her Campus is recognizing some of the members that have been going above and beyond and showing their passion for this organization. Lizzy Spradlin is the perfect example of this. She has shown so much passion for Her Campus over the last few months and has no intention of stopping.

Lizzy is currently a junior Design major with a minor in marketing. She transferred to UNT from UTSA this semester, and this is her first semester in Her Campus!

What made you decide to join Her Campus? I’m a transfer, so I didn’t know any good way to make friends. I was just scrolling on all of the extracurricular activities, and then I saw that you could be a part of a female magazine, and I was like “Oh my god! I have to do that!” I just submitted an application right away.

Are you only on the writing team? No, I think I’m on the most teams out of everybody. I’m social media, PR, and graphic design. I think that’s it. I submitted my application for the writing team. At the first meeting when they were talking about all of the teams, I realized that I wanted to be a part of all of the teams.

What is your favorite part about Her Campus? Truly, the different kinds of people that show up. I really do feel like we have such a wide variety of girls on our team that are able to agree on wanting to do something really cool. At the same time, we have such different personalities, but it works. That’s what so great about women.

What have you gained from being in Her Campus for the last three months? I got an online internship which is always good. I also get to talk about things that I think are important to a wider group than I would’ve been able to reach originally.

Lizzy plans to take her passion for the organization farther and hopefully take on a bigger role. She shines bright, and I can’t wait to see what she does next!

I'm a junior at the University of North Texas. My interests range from reading to astrology to bullet journaling. When I'm not at school or at work, I'm trying new foods or online shopping!
Scotlyn is a UNT alum, Class of 2020. She graduated with a degree in Digital and Print Journalism and a minor in English. During her time with Her Campus, she served as the Chapter President for two years, and also held positions as Chapter Advisor, Writer, and Chapter Expansion Assistant through Her Campus Media. And yes, her name is like the country, but spelled differently.
