Being a makeup artist working with brands such as Chanel, Dior, bareMinerals, and Tarte, and owning over 25 eyeshadow palettes and 20 different brands of skincare, it’s no surprise here that one of my biggest passions in life is the beauty industry. Ever since my sophomore year of high school, I have been applying/wearing fake eyelashes everyday and collecting makeup from different brands far and wide, but as much as I hate to share this, up until my sophomore year of college, I never used ANY skincare products whatsoever. I am thankful that I have naturally very healthy skin that rarely ever breaks out or gets dark spots. Being a strong skincare advocate now, it’s so cringy thinking back on the time that I used absolutely nothing on my skin. I love testing new skincare products from accredited brands so I thought I would share with y’all some of the products I consider essential in my daily routine.

Dermalogica

I am obsessed with Dermalogica’s UltraCalming Skin Kit which includes a cleanser, redness relief essence, serum concentrate and a calm water gel. The key ingredients in these products are lavender, oat, evening primrose oil, and apple fruit extract which all work together to relieve dryness, redness, and dull/uneven textures. I got hooked on this brand because one of my good friends who’s an esthetician raved about its magic and also told me that it is also used in many professional salons (which means its quality is amazing). This kit has helped even the texture of my skin and prevents me from getting any breakouts, which is key for me because I am always trying new face makeup.

Truly

I have gathered quite an infatuation with CBD skincare products and I have found the holy grail of all of them has to be the Mary Jane CBD Glow Serum by Truly. This beautiful pink serum contains 100 mg CBD, vitamin A cannabis sativa, caffeine, and glycolic acid booster and on top of all that, it smells like a magical rainbow. All the ingredients combined help firm, brighten, and deeply hydrate your skin leaving your skin with a relaxed and glowy complexion. You can grab one of these bad boys at Ulta for only $30.

StriVectin

StriVectin Power Starters Multi-Action Trio Kit has my go-to youth-protecting skincare products because of their patented NIA-114 technology which produces clinically proven, visible results of younger looking skin. The kit has a Moisture Matrix Melting Cleanser that transforms from a gel to oil to milk that melts away any face makeup but still keeps your skin nice and moisturized. Next is the Multi-Action Restorative Cream that you wear day and night to fight the 12 key signs of aging and it’s paired with their R&R Eye Cream that repairs lines, wrinkles, puffiness, dark circles, sagging, and dehydration. A common misconception among a lot of college-aged women is that they don’t need to use youth-enhancing makeup or skincare products because they are young and don’t have any noticeable signs of aging yet but that will turn into a regrettable decision later in life. As soon as you start wearing any sort of makeup products on your eyes and face, you should not only be using spf products on your face daily but you should really be using youth-protecting skincare products as well to prevent any signs of aging and keep your skin looking younger longer.

I hope these product suggestions help guide you on your journey of developing your own daily and nightly skincare routines!
