A College Girl’s Countdown to Summer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNH chapter.

1. February hits and you’re already looking for bathing suits to buy. As crazy as you know you are, you cant help but scroll through the hundreds of swim suits searching for your favorite summer look!

2. The first 60 degree day comes around and you and your girlfriends are on your way to the beach (or in our case attempting to go to the beach and then the car breaks down and you spend your night at a gas station).

3. Spring break approaches and you feel as though right when you come back it is going to be the warmth of the Bahamas in Durham. Even though in reality you know it is still pretty chilly, you wear your cutest spring clothes in hopes that your vibe will change the weather patterns.

4. You invest in a new pair of sunglasses as if you don’t have enough. Whether the issue is you break every pair you have, lose them on the beach, or just want the new cute look, a girl can never have too many sunglasses.

5. You start to make your summer playlist for driving around with your best friends with the windows down and sunroof open~ all summer long. You start with all of your favorite country songs and the move on to all of the songs you’ll look back on in a few years and wonder why you ever found it catchy.

6. It’s finally warm enough you go hiking or to the beach after class gets out. As much as you know you need to do homework, you are already on summer time.

7. You spend hours with your best friends all on your computers doing online shopping for new skirts and sandals and sundresses. All of the sales come up and you procrastinate all of your work to find the cutest of all things. You realize you need to stop spending but just can’t stop!

8. Solar fest comes around and you already can’t wait to be done with finals, but you can’t imagine leaving your best friends for the whole summer. You start to get your henna tattoos and make friendship bracelets that you’ll have on all summer long.

9. You pack up your dorm or apartment, take your last final, say all the goodbyes accompanies by many tears, and summer has begun! Even though you didn’t have enough motivation to study as much as you could have for your finals, you forget all about them as you drive away from campus. Until next year!
