What do you think of when you hear “treat yourself”? Maybe an expensive meal, a new pair of shoes, or a salon-done manicure? Those things are amazing, and totally cool in moderation, but there are ways to treat yourself without spenidng any money or eating anything–here’s what we came up with.

1. Go for a drive.

If you don’t want to use your own gas, hop on public transportion and just ride around.

2. Take a hot bath.

Add in your most luxurious body wash/bubble bath and relax! We recommend that you lay there long enough for your fingers to prune, but you do you.

3. People watch.

Don’t be a creep about it. Just appreciate the way other people are living their lives. It’s cool stuff.

4. Put clean sheets on your bed and roll around in them.

Because there’s nothing better than climbing into cool sheets and feeling them start to warm up to your body’s temperature. Yeeeees.

5. Exfoliate and shave all of the things you choose to shave.

Exfoliation will take your beauty routine to a whole other level. If you don’t have gloves or a loofah meant for exfoliation, try brown sugar. Always exfoliate first to remove dead skin and expose more of your hair, then shave it off.

6. Reread your favorite book, even if it’s a trashy romance novel.

Good literature is good literature, y’know?

(Really not sure about the context of this photo, but Fabio is on a lot of romance novel covers. So here’s him with a slice of toast.)

7. Take some time for self-pleasure.

Yes, that kind of self-pleasure. Totally free, a scientifically-proven stress buster, and a mind-blowing experience every time. Yes, please.

8. Watch some movies you’ve already seen.

Since you already know the outcome of all the movies, you’ll feel free to doze off and let your mind wander. Total relaxation.

9. Take a yoga class via YouTube.

We like Yoga with Adriene. This sweet lady offers yoga sequences for “all levels, all bodies, all genders, all souls.” Aw.

10. Give yourself a pedicure.

We say a pedicure rather than a manicure because of how insanely LONG pedicures last over manicures. Also, when was the last time you paid special attention to your feet?

11. Find a makeup tutorial you like on YouTube and try it out.

Experimenting with makeup is amazing. Unlike changing your hair or your whole style, a new makeup look can simply be rinsed off if you’re not a fan. We recommend Jaclyn Hill, Gina, and Kalyn Nicholson.

12. Window shop.

Pull a Holly Golightly. Wander around with a snack and some coffee. Leave your money at home!
