Home Stretch Helpers: Surviving the Last Month of the Semester

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCG chapter.

The beginning of November brings the promise of relief when the semester ends, but also a large amount of stress and panic over rapidly approaching deadlines. To help you through the last month of the semester, try using some of our HC Survival Kit products from our wonderful sponsors.

Organize your room to organize your thoughts.

When preparing for final exams and projects, it is very helpful to do a quick fall cleaning and make sure your room is a comfortable safe haven for productivity and relaxation. While candles are not allowed in dorms on campus, you can still try Wallflowers Fragrance Diffusers from Bath & Body Works to give your room an extra cozy feeling. Try a new fall scent or a classic favorite like Warm Vanilla Sugar. If your fall cleaning requires a bit of repairs, try using Krazy Glue’s All Purpose Singles for big and small fixes.

Fuel your body as well as your mind.

While it is easy to slip into unhealthy eating habits during last minute exam preparation, by ordering late-night pizza or stopping by the vending machine, it is important to maintain clean eating during this stressful time. Keeping a couple Garden of Life protein bars in your bag can help boost your energy between classes or revive you for an all-night study session in the library. Try their Chocolate Sea Salt or Maple Sea Salt flavors so you can feel good about what you’re putting in your body! Another way to “spice up” your diet is by adding Frank’s Red Hot to boost flavor and keep you alert.

Treat yourself every once in a while.

Doing well in your classes is definitely an important aspect of college, but it’s not all work and no play. Taking a break to go out for a movie, have a nice dinner or hang out with friends is essential to maintaining your sanity near the end of the semester. While you’re getting ready for a night on the town, try some of these products to look and feel your best: Buxom Cosmetics Big Tease mascara, Skintimate 2 in 1 shave cream & skin conditioner, L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Hydrating Self-Tanning Milk and Katy Perry’s INDI perfume. After the night is over, don’t forget to take off your makeup before bed by using Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Waterproof.

Remember that safety comes first.

As students start to scramble for the best spots in the library and basically set up camp for several hours, you might find yourself walking back to your dorm very late at night. Don’t forget to utilize the UNCG police program of having someone walk you back to your dorm and carry a SABRE Personal Alarm to keep yourself safe. If your all-nighter happens to be more exciting than hitting the books, make sure to have a SABRE Drink Test Kit on hand to use with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

The last month of the semester can be particularly difficult, especially if this is your first year of college, but it can be made a little more bearable with the help of our Her Campus sponsors!
