Three Ways to Safely Spend Time with Friends this Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

After spending six months at home, it is understandable that we all want to see our friends now that we are back on campus. However, we have to be mindful of the fact that we are still in the middle of a pandemic and having a party with all of our friends isn’t exactly the greatest idea.

Here are three ways you can spend time with your friends on campus while still abiding by social distance policies.

Socially Distanced Walks with Friends

Go for a walk around campus with your friends. Just be sure to bring your masks and stay six feet apart. You can also stop and pick up coffee or some lunch to enjoy at one of the outdoor seating locations on campus.

Attend a Safe Event on Campus

The University has lots of on campus events which require masks and social distancing which you can attend with your friends. From outdoor karaoke to plate smashing, there is always a fun event for you and your friends to attend.

Hangout Virtually Via Zoom

Zoom isn’t just useful for virtual classes, you can use it to spend time with your friends as well! Set up a Zoom meeting to catch up with friends. One of you can share their screen and put on a movie to have a virtual movie night.

Have fun and stay safe!!
