Ditching meat and dairy was one of the BEST decisions I could have made. I have been provided with a sense of clarity and I am on my way to better overall health.

Going plant-based was a challenge though. I figured since I was vegetarian for a period of time prior to going plant-based that transitioning would be a breeze. I could not have been more wrong!

I had non-stop cravings for meat and dairy products and I even slipped up a couple times when I was away from my mom (she would not have let me live down the failure). Three words: Lemon. Pepper. Wings.

These dire cravings could have been avoided had I started my journey off right in the first place. I should have paced myself and ditched certain products one at a time.

Ideally, I would have started off with weening myself off dairy, then meat, then seafood and finally eggs. Instead, I dove head first into a lifestyle that required a lot more discipline than I had before.

Now I NEVER get cravings! Especially after discovering that there are animal product free substitutes for everything, hello buffalo cauliflower bites!

If you were thinking about going plant-based this is obviously a sign from the fruit and veggie gods signaling you to make the leap! A paced leap though.
