Sometimes, we all need a little bit of alone time. On a daily basis, we face what seems like thousands of people, various tasks, responsibilities, and scenarios that get us so fed up that we’d rather crawl under our blankets and sleep the day away. Unfortunately, as adults, we have to trek through the day and compete with everything that we are put up against. When it’s finally time to go home, we can’t wait to say hello to the bedroom. So, what about when we have a day off? What’s a girl to do then? Well, there are a number of at-home activities.

1. Binge-a-thon at home

This may be a little boring to some, but others wouldn’t have it any other way. Imagine an entire day hanging out on the couch, in your PJs, and eating junk food. The only reason for getting up is to go to the bathroom…only to come right back to the comfy couch. It may seem like a waste of a day, but some of us need to recuperate.

2. Clean the house

While this only adds work for you to do, to some it’s ideal. Some of us don’t have the time to truly clean our house the way it should be. We try to maintain it, but every once in a while, it needs a nice scrub from top to bottom. What better day to do so than your day off when there’s extra time available?

3. Catch up on some reading

Curling up with a good book is a great way to escape our daily lives. Even if for a couple hours, a fantasy land is ideal for those of us who are not fans of our current stress-filled lives.

4. Find out what the hot, new music is

This sounds like a quick task, but, believe me, it can take an entire day. One click will lead to another, and then another. Before you know it, it’s been three hours, and you have a new playlist that you can’t stop playing on repeat!

5. Take a bath

This can also be a day-long task as well. You can start preparing your perfect bath from the second you wake up. You may need to make a few runs to make sure everything is perfect, down to the texture of the towel you choose to use. A few sweet-smelling candles and proper bath salts or bombs are important. Maybe you want to add a facial into your bath routine? Or maybe even a hair mask? Incorporating exfoliation? The hot water will open your pores. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you account for every detail to achieve the perfect relaxation period.

A day off is always something to look forward to. It may just be 24 hours, but every second counts, so make the most of it when you get the chance.
