We’ve all been there, the house is a mess, but there is no motivation to even make your bed! You spend more time trying to figure out the fastest way possible to clean up the mess with minimal effort on your part, realizing that you could have been done by now! So, what do you do? Clean!

Start from the bottom, literally. Take out any area rugs you have and shake them off outside to allow the dirt to fly away from your soon to be clean space, and leave them out there to get aired out from any ever-present odors. Then, clear off and sweep up the floors. It’s easier to collect as much dust and debris as possible than it is to wait till the end and carry it all over the house again, only to have to dust once again. Annoying, isn’t it?

Once you are able to dust, use a polish, it helps keep the surfaces smooth and won’t attract as much dust when you pass by cleaning other things. Try to avoid any glass surfaces, that task comes later on. To make sure you have gotten rid of all the dust, try vacuuming your floors and upholstery. The vacuum can help to drastically reduce lingering dust in the air. If the dust is still present in the air, it will eventually fall on the freshly dusted surfaces and ruin all your hard work.

But, what about the bathroom? This can be tackled in multiple ways. One way is that you could clean it once you are done sweeping and dusting, or you could multitask. You can start off by pouring toilet cleaner in the toilet bowl and letting it do its own process, and then remove all shower items and spraying the walls and bathtub with whatever cleaner typically used. Let it soak the walls for a few minutes before rinsing it off. While waiting, you could use the time to dust, instead of performing one job at a time. If you prefer to do one project at a time, that is your choice. If you prefer to focus on the bathroom, you could wipe off the mirror, sink, and toilet. Once that is completed, you can rinse or wipe off the shower walls. Another multitasking option here is to allow the water to run down the walls, and dust while you wait. Once the water has run down, wipe the tub edges dry, if you skip this step, the moisture will cause mold build up between your shower products, and no one wants that.

Once your bathroom is all clean, you’re ready for the final step, washing the floors. If there is tile or hardwood, this is a pain in the butt! Luckily, it’s easy. Since your floors are everywhere, a nice smelling floor cleaner will deodorize your living space as well as cleaning the floors; so technically you are doing multiple jobs at once, talk about little effort! After all surfaces are wiped off and dried, everything can go back to their desired places. The area rugs are back on the ground, the bathroom essentials are in their designated locations, and everything is clean and tidy. You have a clean house that took little to no effort and the shortcuts really paid off. Now, it’s time to enjoy the rest of your day!
