UIC Life

Local or Commuter?

Local

What are you involved with on campus?

Other than classes, I’m a member and captain of UIC’s Track and Field Team.

What are your plans for next year?

I don’t have anything set in stone yet. But I’m looking at different graduate assistantships at other universities in their athletic departments. And another plan for next year is getting a start in my career, hopefully in the area of PR or marketing for a sports/lifestyle brand.

What are your plans after graduation?

Right after graduation, I would love to just chill out and enjoy the summer. So, that means attending a few concerts, and traveling. Then after that, right back to work.

Fun Facts

Describe yourself in three words.

Minimalist, hardworking, opinionated.

Interesting fact?

I broke my femur in a car accident, took a year to learn how to walk again, and a few years later I’m here at UIC running for a D1 track team! ☺ (all things are possible)

Current go to song?

Hmmm. Probably Travis Scott- Through the Late Night

Something that you would change about yourself?

It would be cool if I was a bit less critical on myself.

One thing you would tell your high school self?

Surround yourself with people that inspire you to be better!

Biggest Pet Peeve?

When people make weird noises when they eat.

Celebrity Crush?

I’d have to say Victor Cruz of the New York Giants

Favorite Pick-Up Line?

Don’t have one because I’ve never heard a pick up line that wasn’t corny.

Ideal First Date?

I’m pretty simple, so a chill trip to a museum, or gallery. Having lunch or a snack at a taco joint.

Christiana is a Communications major with a minor in Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Originally from a very small town in central Illinois, she spends most of her time exploring the city. She enjoys live music, poetry, and cheesy indie comedies. Catch her around campus to talk about the latest in hip-hop releases.
