Budget-Friendly Ideas for a Girls Night

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UIC chapter.

With everything going on around me, I want to urge you guys to have fun with your people. The key to happy living is making sure you surround yourself with positive people. So, here are some ideas to make for a good girls night.

Spa Day

Everyone loves some self-care. Hey, I talk about it in my writing all the time. So, this week, I challenge you to take some time with yourself and your friends. Grab some masks and make it into your own spa day. A facial can be costly, but if you give yourselves facials, I’m sure you can find easy-to-apply masks at any Target, Walmart, etc.

Movie Night

I love a good movie night. With midterms upon us, it’s nice to do something solely for your entertainment. So, pick a good movie on Netflix. Give yourself a good 2-3 hours to relax, with some snacks, of course.

Painting

Everyone has a really good creative side. So, grab some art supplies from Michael’s and get to work. I think giving yourself time to relax and do something productive just for you will help you express yourself. I’m sure no matter what your skill level is, anyone can paint/draw.

Night out in the city

With restrictions lifting, there is a bunch of fun stuff to do in Chicago. This includes going to the lake, the Bean, and the museum. It has been a long time since I was able to go out and have a good time with friends without worrying about the virus. Adhere to social distancing and safety precautions. Have fun!

During this time, it’s important to remember to make time for those around you. Surrounding ourselves with who and what makes us happy is essential to good living. Have a good time. Enjoy life. Be happy.
