Get ready to dive into what our lady swimmer and divers have been getting into lately.

Swim and diving records:

Evelyn Entrekin (swim), ranked 1st at the University of Houston and 17th overall in the Big 12 conference. In a recent meet, Entrekin scored an NCAA B-cut in the 100-yard breaststroke, timed at 1:00.29, finishing second. On January 31st, she won against Rice in the 100 breast. October 30th, 2025, she finished 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.50. I think it’s safe to say Ms. Entrekin is giving mermaids difficult competition.

Virag Peter (swim), a Pecs, Hungary native, is currently ranked 2nd at UH, 26th in the Big 12, and 34th in Hungary. As a sophomore 2023-24, she finished fourth in the 200 Breast (2:11.76) at Big 12 Championships. In high school, she was the National Junior Champion in four events: 50-meter breaststroke, 100-meter breaststroke, 200-meter breaststroke, and 200-meter IM. Peter is a ten-time National Champion in Youth and Junior Championships.

Senior Noor El Gendy holds one of Houston’s top spots with a time of 1:56.08 in the 200 butterfly, marking the second-fastest time in program history. She is ranked 1st in Egypt and 3rd at UH. The Cairo, Egypt native also earned an NCAA B-Cut in 100- and 200-yard butterflies. She concluded last season, setting a program record in the 100-yard butterfly. Before her colligate career, she won the Athletic Excellence Award while attending Hayah International Academy.

This past Thursday, Michelle Mcleod (diving) became a 3-time award recipient, (Big 12 Diver of the week 2x recipient). In a meet against A&M she scored 287.48 in the 1-meter springboard and 308.63 in the 3-meter springboard. On the day of competition, Mcleod struck wins in the 1-meter (289.80) as well in the 3-meter (301.20) springboard diving competitions. McLeod also earned Zone Cuts in both events.

Hello I’m Madelyn and I’m very excited to write for Her Campus University of Houston Chapter!
Hello everyone,
My name is Haven and I am a sophomore at the University of Houston majoring in Biology. I intend to complete my education by going to medical school, at Meharry Medical College or Long School of Medicine at UTSA, and becoming a dermatologist.

In my free time, I like to try different foods with friends and family, take naps and also do girly maintenance tasks such as shopping, mani/pedis and makeovers.
