Ana’s Advice: 5 Traveling Bag Musts!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UH chapter.

It’s the most wonderful time of the years. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are right around the corner, and you know what that means? Lots of traveling to visit lots of family.

Here is what I carry in my travel makeup bag, along with some tips on how to save some space in your suitcase!

  1. Maybelline Dewy + Smooth Fit Me Foundation – Take a foundation that fits your skin type. Taking a foundation that is buildable helps when you have days you want a lighter layer or days when you want full coverage. It allows you to skip out on concealer and keep more space in your bag! If you want to skip out on powder as well, take a foundation that is more matte so you don’t have to set it.
  1. Lorac Pro Pallet – This is probably one of my favorite palettes to travel with, if not favorite overall. The colors are pigmented and blend like a dream. It’s also has sixteen shades, so it’s very versatile. The pallet is perfect to travel with because of its slim size and the fact that it already comes with a travel-size eyeshadow base. You can also save some space in your bag by using the black shade as eyeliner!

  1. Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara (waterproof) – Take any mascara that make your eyes pop! This just happens to be my favorite because it makes my curls last all day long!
  1. Nars Blush & Bronzer – This is such a great way to save space in your bag. Finding 2-in-1 products are a dream when traveling. Not only does this duo save space in your makeup bag, but it’s an amazing product. It’s pigmented and lasts forever.

  1. L’Oreal La Lacque Lip Color – Take about 2-3 lipstick colors of your choice. It’s okay to take a couple of these because lipsticks can change your entire look, plus you’re saving so much space in your bag already! This is my favorite at the moment, specifically the color, Choco-Lacque!
